Who's the poet?

My name is Isabelle Richard. I am a Canadian family doctor and part time poet!

I was born and raised in Montreal, but have lived and worked in multiple provinces in Canada.

The Poetry Post was an idea that came to me while lying on my yoga mat in the thick of my medical training. I was trying to figure out how my poetry might fit into people's everyday lives.

Something about a paper letter seemed a sweet reminder of the gentle pull of words, of love.

​

My poems are about the simple things in life. When the world seems to spin faster than we can think - a little slice of language seems to soothe the heart and mind.

​

So here we are, three years later. This poetry community is growing in size and in breadth. 

​

I now live in BC and ship across Canada and internationally, to countries including Japan, Australia and Bulgaria.
